Census Outputs Research Approach

We are looking to run focus groups with those who work in the public and third sectors and have an interest in Census data as part of their job. The focus groups will run for a maximum of 2 hours and will be limited to a maximum of nine participants per session. These sessions will take place at Storm ID’s office in Leith.

Cabinet Secretary appears before Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs Committee

Following formal laying of the draft Census (Scotland) Order in the Scottish Parliament on 23 January 2020, Fiona Hyslop, the Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism and External Affairs, along with NRS Officials, appeared before the Culture, Tourism, Europe and External Affairs Committee on 30 January to discuss matters related to Scotland’s Census 2021. We welcomed the opportunity to hear from the Committee and stand ready to deliver a census that is not only fit for this digital century, but most importantly, delivers for all of Scotland.
